New Years Resolutions

Thanksgiving came and quickly went. Christmas soon followed, and before I knew it it was New Year's day. Like a lot of years before I have a couple of resolutions I'm trying to stick to. One of those resolutions is giving my much neglected websites some attention.

I actually got called out today by a gentleman who submitted his work sometime ago. I have had some personal  issues that kind of got in the way of my leisurely endeavors (this blog being one of them). Although life got hectic I forgot about the fact that I asked a lot of people I didn't know for help, in the way of a call for submissions. This person reminded me today that not only have I not got back to him on his submission but haven't made a post in months.

He kindly ask to withdraw his submission and wish me the best of luck. I let him down, I let a lot of you down. But I'm not giving up. Today around 12:00 pm Central U.S. time I had answered everyone's submission with a yes or no. I finally sat down and read every one of the pieces that were submitted.

I don't know quite what it is but this time around there were actually more yeas than nays. I just kept  reading more and more good stuff. I read some stuff that didn't really fit here but I can say hardly any of it was written bad. If anyone has been in a position of editor before you'll know how odd of an occurrence this is.

Well, I'm here to say I'm back on track and ready to start this year off right. Today I selected enough good submissions to start Fiction Friday back up and keep it rolling regularly for a long time. Really that's what this sight is all about Lurid Literature, and I have a bunch a good stuff in queue.

Also starting the new year off on the right foot I have found some poor sole who has volunteered to help out with some of the review duties here at LuridLit. His name is Joseph, he's very knowledgeable on the subject of genre fiction, he's a published reviewer, and from my understanding a good writer in his own right. Joe should be along to introduce himself shortly

Check back soon for new reviews, updates, and articles.
