Book Review: Frankenstein REC by Costas Zapas, Column Books, 2014

Now a novel and soon to be a motion picture Mr. Zapas brings us a modern re-telling of the old tale which is both contemporary and vintage all at the same time. What he does is artfully present us the nightmare that is the monster, that is the obsession of the monster, in a nightmare rolled into an obsession into a nightmare.

The story moves quickly blending the historical facts surrounding the actual writing of the novel with the mythology of the beast and psychology of the god complex making it an interesting, entertaining and analytical read.

I have to be honest, when I first looked at this piece I was skeptical but after a few paragraphs I was won over.

The entire story is a twist on a twist on a twist and that is what makes it work.

Buy it now so you can compare it to the movie.
